> Evolutiv'tennis

With a wealth of experience with the under-12s and her knowledge of the American method for champions, Valérie Albaret has developed her own teaching method: Évolutiv’ Tennis®.

> Equipment

Facilities which make it easier to designate play zones and space, making possible the layout of game situations and guaranteeing kids’ safety.

Rackets:
The size depends on the child’s skills, his height, and his strength. With a short-handled racket, a child can feel his stroke and the difference between the palm and the back of the hand (forehand and backhand). Little by little, the child will use bigger rackets.

Balls: Using balls of different types and sizes…

> Method

It is all the more important to develop the kids’ motor skills as they are essential to sports practice:
coordination, sideways movement, balance, throwing, catching, running, jumping and using one’s space.

However, more than just a general motor education, tennis-specific skills are practised in order to make the child improve and also to facilitate learning tennis techniques.

> Assessment

This assessment system enables the coach to follow the child in his evolution towards playing on full-size courts.

The assessments are landmarks for the teacher who grades achievements at the end of each learning cycle. The aims of the next cycle will be established as a result of this observation.

Each child is assessed positively in order to maintain his motivation. His learning rhythm is respected, the goal being gradual progress.
